Paper Plane

The idea of using one sheet of paper and crafting a moving object out of it is fun, adding thrust, life, and drag to it makes it more so. Building a paper airplane may seem slightly childish but looking at it from a scientific standpoint and give some insight on how things are suppose to work and how things function with very simplistic ways. Also small adjustments can cause it to move in a completely different way that it did before, making the view on Art and Tech a different world.

Diva

The movie Diva had a very interesting twist to things. Slow at first but it later picked up. It had what I would call a double plot, because one side was about a tape that was used for evidence against a crime lord as where another was a tape used to record an opera singer. They both get tied to one another through the same person, making some points interesting and a bit comical. There was a lot of unnecessary footage used in the movie that other than didn't make sense with the current plot or was just pointless to have. The idea behind it for that time was great for it used old style tech, which back then was top of the line. For an older movie I would say it was good, but not a movie I would watch twice.

Ride of Valkyries Opera

The Rid of the Valkyries Opera
There are several operas I have seen but this one seems to be one that catches my eye, for I have a small interest in Norse or Viking past or history seeing woman dressed in Valkyries armor and singing as if they were Valkyries themselves was interesting. Having somewhat of a medieval theme were bones and skulls lay upon the ground ad a canvas of them riding what appears to horses gives it a humor look yet gives a great setting of battle or a battlefield.

Monteverdi's Orpheo

Monteverdi's Orpheo
In the video Monteverdi’s Orpheo it shows a simple set up yet with the orchestra and vocalist it brings it to more of an imaginary setting. Like most operas it is set to appease a crowd with more so sound than sight but there are some operas that actually contribute to an actual show turning into more of a musical than an opera. An example of this would be Les Miserables, where the vocals were still set up to be opera like but the scenes played out and changed while the story took place.

Dubai Fireworks

Dubai Fireworks
The video  Baroque fireworks in Dubai provides a very festive  interest, for most americans we shoot fireworks off on the 4th of July as well as New Years but other cultures they shoot them off as different celebrations. Most shows also dealing with fireworks in America are usually about a 2 to 5 min ordeal with a few mortars going off every sec. The video for Dubai clearly shows fireworks going off 20+ every second in what seems to be a span of several thousand feet as well giving off a verity of colors. The music that went along with it was appealing as well because it gave a sense of celebration or party while fireworks were going off int he background. A sense of fun and happiness all around.

Song Rich Bitch

Rich Bitch
The song Rich Bitch was an interesting video, although extremely hard to understand it had a catchy tune to it that made you want to keep listening. The visual affects were a tad bit annoying, only for the face that I am not a huge fan of over wealthy individuals that enjoy flaunting there "prizes" to others that struggle with every day finances. The two part vocals gives it a nice tone and pleasing to the ears when hearing a beat in one and a secondary beat in the other where they conform together but yet are separate.

Spectators

Spectator

The information provide from Foucault on Panoptic and Carceral Society, Panopticon definition, and Barthes and Wrestling, have show similarity in the style of arena or shape of the building. They all poses a position that everyone on the outside of the area or building can see what is in the middle and vise versa with equal sight. This has been about for hundreds of years back within the roman arena or theaters, where the direction for the audience is pointed directly to the main attraction so that everyone could have an equal share of the attraction. Prisons are also using this style to lower costs on man power to keep an I out on the inmates.
