Last Blog to end Blogs

This is my last blog and in a weeks time after this semester I will be deleting everything from my blogs, it was a nice journey to have the class Art n Tech, but really I see no need to have it for a degree in digital arts. With our generation living in a technological world where technology is second nature to us almost the first, and a lot of don't need the concept of art because art is what we call art. I can go outside dance for 1 sec and say that is art, so to have a class of Art n Tech seems a tab bit redundant, but its what the school wants (to suck out more money and make us apply for classes we dont need). This is all my opinion though but as mention was fun.

Peace OUT

Advanced VR with the mind

I have talked about virtual reality but using this to help those with disabilities will turn the world around. Having virtual reality being seen through the brain instead of the eyes can not only allow those who are blind see but those who can't walk be allowed to move through a virtual world. The idea is small and will take time to reach but the way the VR is going it shouldn't take long to find the connection to a human brain to allow them to transfer there consciousness to another world were once they were disabled and then able to function once more. This concept is similar to what the movie Avatar presented with ones subconscious being transferred to another, but still being alive in another area.

Video Games increased brain function

Todays video games are completely different to what they were in the past. Games now aren't just advanced but they also offer intellectual and critical thinking that increases the brain function to push itself past its limits. Games are also set in different genres that also change how the brain attacks the situation. For example and RTS (real time strategy) puts you in a fast pace battle where you have to figure out counters on counters to win the game. In a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Area) you are focused as a team to complete objectives and to kill the enemy team while in a short time frame. This is what our future holds and it is what is making us progress intellectually.

VR

We have spent years developing a way to visit a new world whether that be space a new country but what if we could bring a new world to you. Now that is somewhat possible with Virtual Reality for now they have brought out the Oculus Rift which allows the viewer play games but yet the brain gets tricked into thinking they are actually there and causing there body to react to what they see.

Weird Music Videos

There are some really extreme videos out there but there are some that are stupid and weird. examples of this would be Major Lazor - Bubble Butt, where it is a bunch of woman shaking there butts. There are others like miley cyrus - wrecking ball where she is riding a wrecking ball and licking a sludge hammer.

3 Performance Artists

Robin Williams
Yes Robin Williams is an actor but in some of his movies he plays as someone completely different taking on a whole new persona like in Mrs. Doubtfire. Here he dresses up as a elderly woman and has to change is voice and persona to fool everyone even his own children.

The Blue Man Group
Dress up in nothing but blue where you cant see anything and they entertain a crowd up people with music or actions.

Globetrotters
These are a bunch of basketball players that perform a show of tricks and skills and make it funny against another team.

Flip Books

Flip books are one of the most annoying things to be done by hand yet it can also allow you to understand the fundamentals of how to see things and what to expect next. There are those who can make full action art, but I am not that great but even putting circles down upon circles for 200 pages worth can be taxing yet when done can be satisfying.

Drone Racing

Today with the rise in technology, we have taken a liking and joy to new form of sports. Sports now a days don't have to be physical instead it only has to be competitive and one sport that has been rising in interest is the Drone Races where people would build there own drones and race them on a track but whats amazing about this track is that it not only has turns but it is also vertical putting a new style of racing compared to anything else. Whats also great is that the viewer wheres a headset that allows them to see there drone and where it goes making them feel as if they are the ones flying.

Virtual World

Technology has come a long way because it has brought the fake and made up to reality. They are using a headset that allows you to see virtual apps within your house such as a calendar, weather app, or even a virtual dog. Just like a computer or even a phone where you can edit your apps and download new ones the same can be done with this headset and what great is it puts it in a 4D view and interactive.

3D modeling

3D printing cant take place unless someone creates the model within a program. There are several programs that can be used such as Maya, Hammer, Rhino, and many others where you can take shapes and geometry and form it into a figure. Later you can transport that model out to a printer to have it printed out or you can go further with it and texture and rig it then put it in motion which later can be used in movies or games.

Late Nights of School

Most who don't want to school won't understand that going to school is just as hard if not worst than actually going to work from 8 to 4 because not only do you have to go too class for several hours you are up late at night completing homework. There has been several nights or about 70% of the time that I would be up till 3 or 4 in the morning and have class at 7 with an hour drive to campus. What is upsetting is that once we are done with school we are put in this mind set to stay up so early in the morning and get no sleep which hurts us in the long run.

3D Modeling for the Blind

There are some doctors out there that are helping the blind by printing out 3D models so that they can touch and see with there hands. Examples of this would be a blind soon to be mother visiting her doctor for an ultrasound but since she is blind she can only take her doctors word and descriptions of what the baby looks like, however the doctor took the picture and sent it out to have it 3D printed so when she came back for another ultrasound she then could see her child by touching it.

Opera into a Game

A game design I came up with was based off the Lion King opera, where it shared the basic story line of the Lion King but you play as Simba and go along his story. The game would be an old style 2D version where you can jump around, collect bugs for points and after a few stages you will face a boss. Once you beat the boss or stage you are timed and then scored based on the time and points collected and depending on how you did you can be put on the scoreboard.

Computer Coding

Coding whether it would be with HTML, java, or css it all has something in common and that would be formulas. When you code it only takes one misplaced letter, period, or screw up to have the code not work. When you do code and it works out the sky is the limit because it can do wondrous things. Computers, phones, games, movies all have a form of code, even some would say we are coded in a certain way. Coding is time consuming but if you love math and formulas and love creating wonderful things then you should try it out.

Stencil

In creating a stencil you have to come at it with an idea and yet figure it if you want it to be inverted or a regular stencil. What is meant by this is are you wanting to paint the lines or do you want to paint in the body and leave the lines out. Once you figure that you need to figure out how to layout the pieces so that it makes the figure but once its cut out still stays together in one piece. My piece of work was Master Chief to represent the human war evolution and what we could become later in years.

A10

The A-10 or known as the Thunderbird is an aircraft used within the United States Air Force where it provides strafe runs of 30mm rounds at 2100 rpm.  Unfortunately the government is talking about decommissioning these strong and needed aircraft. They are mentioning that the costs of the aircraft and maintenance of the aircraft is becoming to much and that they need to shut it down but in reality this aircraft alone has saved thousands of lives because of its heavy arsenal and its intense speed.

NASA

We had an interview with a man from NASA getting a wide amount of information in regards of virtual reality. We were demonstrated the theory that taking a Xbox Kinect and using its properties of registering a human figure and putting it withing a virtual reality scene allowing a person wearing a Oculus Rift to take control. Other demonstrations were with robots and using Bluetooth signals to tell them what to do and how to move.

Construction Demo

There is a science to some arts. One of these are the demolition of large buildings, some may not think this to be an art but having a building 30 stories high crumble down perfectly to stay within the block it was build in is not only amazing to look at the amount of science behind it. In order to have a building crumble perfectly you need to place charges around the supports with the correct amount of explosive and also has to be the right conditions as well for it to work. Science is a form of art that can be applied through almost everything.

3D Printing

Printing takes a new outlook when using 3D methods. Not only can you print things that are simple but you can print complex things as well. 3D printing uses a special plastic that melts down and then cools after being put on a plate. After time passes the lines build up and eventually the form of what you want printed takes shape. This also applies to other things as well such as concrete printing, or even liquid printing where a plate does down and picks up liquid and slowly forms into a figure as it goes up.

Paper Plane

The idea of using one sheet of paper and crafting a moving object out of it is fun, adding thrust, life, and drag to it makes it more so. Building a paper airplane may seem slightly childish but looking at it from a scientific standpoint and give some insight on how things are suppose to work and how things function with very simplistic ways. Also small adjustments can cause it to move in a completely different way that it did before, making the view on Art and Tech a different world.

Diva

The movie Diva had a very interesting twist to things. Slow at first but it later picked up. It had what I would call a double plot, because one side was about a tape that was used for evidence against a crime lord as where another was a tape used to record an opera singer. They both get tied to one another through the same person, making some points interesting and a bit comical. There was a lot of unnecessary footage used in the movie that other than didn't make sense with the current plot or was just pointless to have. The idea behind it for that time was great for it used old style tech, which back then was top of the line. For an older movie I would say it was good, but not a movie I would watch twice.

Ride of Valkyries Opera

The Rid of the Valkyries Opera
There are several operas I have seen but this one seems to be one that catches my eye, for I have a small interest in Norse or Viking past or history seeing woman dressed in Valkyries armor and singing as if they were Valkyries themselves was interesting. Having somewhat of a medieval theme were bones and skulls lay upon the ground ad a canvas of them riding what appears to horses gives it a humor look yet gives a great setting of battle or a battlefield.

Monteverdi's Orpheo

Monteverdi's Orpheo
In the video Monteverdi’s Orpheo it shows a simple set up yet with the orchestra and vocalist it brings it to more of an imaginary setting. Like most operas it is set to appease a crowd with more so sound than sight but there are some operas that actually contribute to an actual show turning into more of a musical than an opera. An example of this would be Les Miserables, where the vocals were still set up to be opera like but the scenes played out and changed while the story took place.

Dubai Fireworks

Dubai Fireworks
The video  Baroque fireworks in Dubai provides a very festive  interest, for most americans we shoot fireworks off on the 4th of July as well as New Years but other cultures they shoot them off as different celebrations. Most shows also dealing with fireworks in America are usually about a 2 to 5 min ordeal with a few mortars going off every sec. The video for Dubai clearly shows fireworks going off 20+ every second in what seems to be a span of several thousand feet as well giving off a verity of colors. The music that went along with it was appealing as well because it gave a sense of celebration or party while fireworks were going off int he background. A sense of fun and happiness all around.

Song Rich Bitch

Rich Bitch
The song Rich Bitch was an interesting video, although extremely hard to understand it had a catchy tune to it that made you want to keep listening. The visual affects were a tad bit annoying, only for the face that I am not a huge fan of over wealthy individuals that enjoy flaunting there "prizes" to others that struggle with every day finances. The two part vocals gives it a nice tone and pleasing to the ears when hearing a beat in one and a secondary beat in the other where they conform together but yet are separate.

Spectators

Spectator

The information provide from Foucault on Panoptic and Carceral Society, Panopticon definition, and Barthes and Wrestling, have show similarity in the style of arena or shape of the building. They all poses a position that everyone on the outside of the area or building can see what is in the middle and vise versa with equal sight. This has been about for hundreds of years back within the roman arena or theaters, where the direction for the audience is pointed directly to the main attraction so that everyone could have an equal share of the attraction. Prisons are also using this style to lower costs on man power to keep an I out on the inmates.

Art n Tech

Art n Tech

Art is the expression of emotion or idea brought upon a person who claims it as an Art piece.

Technology is what helps us through the world of everyday life brought about using intellect.

Both are a conjunction of idea and intelligence that helps bring what we are thinking into the world that other than helps with every day life or helps with expressing our emotion though some shape or form.
